How to disable windows Defender?

How can I easily disable windows defender? I have windows vista running.

Click on start menu, then type "msconfig" in the "Start Search" input field. When application appears select the startup tab and uncheck the entry for Windows Defender. Then you will be prompted to reboot. When it reboots, a message about making changes will appear. Select don't show this message again then OK.
